National Meeting Debut for ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces

Hot on the heels of its August 14 th Paragon Plus implementation enabling manuscript submission, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (ACSAMI) will be making its ACS National Meeting debut at the ACS Fall National Meeting in Philadelphia. At the meeting, ACSAMI Editor-in-Chief Kirk Schanze will present an overview of the new journal in a special event at the ACS Publications Booth on Tuesday, August 19 th at 10:00 AM. Please join us for this presentation, and be on the lookout for information on the new journal at various technical sessions and at the ACS Publications booth.

ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable Research Grant

The ACS Green Chemistry Institute (GCI) is now offering the ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable Research Grant, an award of $160,000 to support 12-24 months of research addressing the 12 key green-chemistry research areas identified by the pharmaceutical industry. Academic institutions worldwide are eligible for the grant. This two-day conference from ACS ProSpectives (Sept. 7-9, Royal Sonesta Boston, Cambridge, MA ) will move from the basic concepts & principles of PK-PD to their application in drug discovery programs from various therapeutic areas. Each session will be highlighted with a medicinal chemistry case study. An optional full-day short course is available, featuring "Fundamentals of Pharmacokinetics" in the morning session, "Fundamentals of PK/PD Modeling" in the afternoon.
